Emily and FX Makeup

Special Effects
Brady's sliced knuckle

Emily is 13 years old and one year ago she discovered a passion for special effects make-up. She loves it! She spends hours watching how to videos and then tries them out. She is always looking for someone to practice on. She even taught a group of girls at church how to make a cut on their arms. I think it's so cool that she found something she is so passionate about at such a young age. She is hoping to visit her Aunt Alex in Hollywood in the future. These pictures are rather old from when she first started. I will                                                      add more in a future blog.

Silver Spings Fieldtrip

We had a great day. We also saw bears, tortoise, snakes, sloth, and panthers.

Alligator Time!

This was Brady's first time seeing a giraffe. He was able to feed the giraffe.

Ashton and Brady loved the birds!

A Handful of Olives

I still haven't figured out why putting olives on every finger brings one so much happiness, but it does!

Brady, Emily, and Brett enjoying their olives!

Brett is so excited he discovered how to put olives on his fingers!

All Russ kids LOVE black olives. As children (and still as adults) we fought over olives, we would hide cans of olives from each other. We even got them in our stockings at Christmas. Olives were better than candy in the Russ house. We now think it's genetic. All the grandkids love black olives too! This brings back many fun memories of putting olives on our fingers and eating them all off, just to repeat the process.

Body Art

Okay, so I'm getting the kids ready to go to Target. I'm in my room getting dressed and getting Brett ready. This is what I see when I come out to the living room. Brady has covered himself in marker. Aggravation sets in because this is Brady's new favorite past time. He writes on something daily. For example, Sunday at church he was on his knees facing a chair coloring. He lays his head down and is looking to one side. We don't notice that he is covering his entire face in marker during sacrament. Anyways, back to my Target trip. He is covered from head to toe.
And I mean head to TOES. Every toe is colored.
After we talk and take pictures I give him a bath.
As I take him to the bath I notice the word COOL written across his back. HMMM - "Emily come here!"
She precedes to tell me she wrote Cool on his back and Rock On across his legs. If you look closely the rest of the writing is Brady writing Q's, T's, L's, and H's. Oh well, at least it was educational. On to Target for my next adventure!

Rain,Rain Go Away?

NO WAY!
Today we had a good ole Florida rain!
It reminded me of the rains we had when I was a little girl. A hard down pour of warm rain without thunder and lightning filled the streets in minutes.
Emily and Brady couldn't wait to get out and play. They had a blast running, jumping, and screaming in the rain.
It was so fun to watch their excitement and it brought back many memories of my brothers and sisters, and I playing in the rain.

SO FUN!
